Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Memorial Weekend

Our weekend consisted of a birthday celebration, several BBQs, lots of bubbles, and even more friends. It was a good one.

 {The only hiccup in our weekend came in the form of some vicious molars. Break through already!}

{Aquasox and baby friends, what could be better?}

What Our Weekend Looked Like

Just a chat. I'm glad she finds herself so funny...

We had such a relaxing weekend and did not get as much done around the house as I had hoped. We haven't even STARTED the nursery ack! Lily's molars are just under the surface and poor thing is uncomfortable and super congested so sleeping is a luxury at the moment. I'll share some pics from our weekend tomorrow. Lots of cute people being cute.

Little Bits of Happiness

I'm linking up with Stephanie again this week. I haven't had much to say the past few days. Well, that's a lie. I have a lot to say, but not enough energy to type it all out. For now, here are a few little things that made me happy this week!

 {Getting showered, or "sprinkled" by people I love.}

 {Soggy cloth diaper bums after a wet slide.}

 {Her skeptical face.}

 {Huge belly being huge and long hair being long.}

{Sally Hansen invading my life. Seriously, where have you been?}

What made you happy this week? Go link up with Stephanie below!

All You Need is Love

I'm linking up with Stephanie this week for Little Bits of Happiness.

I respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you do not have to agree with mine, but I just want to say "here here!" and "snap snap to that!" John Green.

Plus... I kind of love him.

It's hard to argue with a sing-a-ma-jig.

Happy Thursday people! Hug someone you love today, that is totally legal as far as I know.

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Fun in the Sun

It has been 80 degrees around here and we know not to waste the fleeting sunshine. Lily and I ventured over to visit Mandy and Bennett for some (heavily sunscreened) fun.

 {As hard as you try to stop them, a kid just needs to get in the dirt. PS - I'm her mom so I can say this... holy cute butt cheek!}

{And this is where they will get married. Too soon?}

I also got to see sweet baby Easton and I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of his crazy baby mohawk. Next time, I promise.

I'm Ready for Summer!

Thanks to Walgreens for underwriting this post. I was paid as a member of the Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all mine. Visit http://www.discoverbeautywithin.com/.

The sunshine is finally here in the Pacific Northwest and suddenly it is summer. To me summer means cold drinks, sweaty babies, and bright colors, so when Walgreens asked me to talk about my favorite summer beauty trends I knew one thing I just had to show you. I love wearing crazy nail colors year round, but this summer the biggest shades are bright pinky-orange corals and tangerines.

You can bet I will be sporting this all summer long. In Seattle our summers can be finicky and short, but we find our ways to keep things looking bright.

Besides the bold hues on my fingers and toes, in the summer I like to keep the rest of my beauty routine minimal and fresh. I always start with a good sunscreen, then just a warm bronzer, some shimmery gold eyeshadow, and always (ALWAYS) a tube of great black mascara. Nothing heavy, nothing too dark, just sunny and beachy (even if we have to fake the bronzed glow around here).

I am not a lipstick girl (as much as I would like to be), so I usually just throw on some Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers and go. Seriously, I have one that is the size of Lily's forearm. Well, maybe that is an exaggeration, but look!

It is just the right hint of color, trust me, I would not steer you wrong.

Writing this post makes me want to go scour the aisles of the nearest drugstore for more sweet summer finds. I could literally spend hours in the drugstore, it is my happy place. What are some of your favorite summer looks?  Give me a good excuse to go shopping!

Steppin Out Saturday: March for Babies!

Saturday we stepped out to the March for Babies in Tacoma. The weather was beautiful and the company was even better.

{On me// Shoes: Nike// Jeans: Gap// Tank: H&M// T-shirt: Target// Sweatshirt: J Crew// Sunglasses: from my mama!}

{On Lily// Shoes: Stride Rite// Jeans and Sunglasses: Children's Place// T-shirt and Sweater: Target.}

{Holy cuteness!}

{We jumped eventually.}

 {Stoked and soaked.}

The afternoon consisted of much needed pedicures with my sister and a BBQ with friends. It was a big day for the little miss and she was worn out!

{What a happy kid.}

The day ended with a relaxing bath for Mama and a good night sleep for all. I hope you are having a wonderful day celebrating all the mothers in your life. I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day!
