I'm Ready for Summer!

Thanks to Walgreens for underwriting this post. I was paid as a member of the Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all mine. Visit http://www.discoverbeautywithin.com/.

The sunshine is finally here in the Pacific Northwest and suddenly it is summer. To me summer means cold drinks, sweaty babies, and bright colors, so when Walgreens asked me to talk about my favorite summer beauty trends I knew one thing I just had to show you. I love wearing crazy nail colors year round, but this summer the biggest shades are bright pinky-orange corals and tangerines.

You can bet I will be sporting this all summer long. In Seattle our summers can be finicky and short, but we find our ways to keep things looking bright.

Besides the bold hues on my fingers and toes, in the summer I like to keep the rest of my beauty routine minimal and fresh. I always start with a good sunscreen, then just a warm bronzer, some shimmery gold eyeshadow, and always (ALWAYS) a tube of great black mascara. Nothing heavy, nothing too dark, just sunny and beachy (even if we have to fake the bronzed glow around here).

I am not a lipstick girl (as much as I would like to be), so I usually just throw on some Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers and go. Seriously, I have one that is the size of Lily's forearm. Well, maybe that is an exaggeration, but look!

It is just the right hint of color, trust me, I would not steer you wrong.

Writing this post makes me want to go scour the aisles of the nearest drugstore for more sweet summer finds. I could literally spend hours in the drugstore, it is my happy place. What are some of your favorite summer looks?  Give me a good excuse to go shopping!

  1. Whoo hoo! I love your summer beauty post! That lip smackers is amazing...I remember getting the candy cane shaped tubes of them in my stocking at Christmas...it was the best! I had such a collection! We have similar makeup routines... :)
