Wordless{ish} Wednesday: A Curly Cut

{Remember the rogue curls?}

{They finally had to go.}

{No hairs were harmed in the making of this collage. Ok, a few may have met their collective end.}

{She is far too grown up.}

True Confessions Tuesday: I like Twilight

I said it, I like Twilight and I am not ashamed. To accompany this post I will show you a few pictures from when my mom, sister, and I made a trip to Forks a few years ago. Yes, we are super nerdy... keep up!

If you live in Washington and you like Twilight even a little bit, you should go. They go ALL out in Forks.

{Get it?}

I'll admit the Twilight series is not exactly an example of stellar writing. I am also not a huge fan of the whole delicate female who needs her big manly protector. And lets face it, Bella Swan is no Katniss Everdeen. But they are fun. Sometimes stories can just be fun. They are a pleasure (no guilt.)

Sunday I saw the latest movie. It was great, deliciously terrible and wonderfully cheesy. I loved every second.

I am probably in the minority here, but I love when books are made into movies. Don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer that you should always read the book first. The book is always better, deeper, more complicated. Some people feel that seeing the movie ruins a book for them, but I find it fascinating. I go into the movie with all the knowledge from the book and seeing it all come to life is just a bonus.

I was going to say a movie is like the icing on the cake, but lets get real, the icing is the best part. So maybe it is more like the filling, but that makes it sound too important. I guess a movie is like the sprinkles on the icing on the cake. Unnecessary, sometimes tasteless, but so pretty! Yes, that is my analogy and I'm sticking to it.

{No one would ever just lay down and fall asleep in the woods for no reason... Bella Swan, not a genius.}

{Loving in La Push}

{Don't worry, no one saw us, it was Saturday.}

 {Dorking it up.}

Did anyone else see the movie? Are you ashamed of your love of questionable literature? Tell me I'm not alone.

A Very Merry Christmas Meme

I saw this over on Jess's blog and figured I had to do it. I am so in love with Christmas, it isn't even funny. I love everything about it. I know not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I do so I hope you don't mind my sharing!

To accompany my answers I will throw in a few pictures from our Christmas last year.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate. Egg Nog is sick. The only up-side to Egg Nog is if it has rum in it, but I'll just put a little Bailey's in my cocoa.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? I'm with Jess, elves wrap the gifts. Santa is obviously really busy.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Both! I love twinkly sparkly lights! I'm not a huge fan of the 70's looking giant bulbs, but whatever floats your boat.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? I have before, maybe I will again this year. There can never be too much kissing.

5. When do you put your decorations up? Sometime after Thanksgiving. Last year I majorly slacked, but I think Lily will be in to it this year so that will be more fun.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? This isn't necessarily Christmas related, but my mom makes this amazing crab dip. I could eat the whole plate.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Every Christmas morning my sister and I would run upstairs to my parents' room being careful not to sneak a peek at the living room. Then when my parents said they were ready we would walk into the living room holding hands to see if Santa had come. (Spoiler alert: he always did.)

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? WHAT TRUTH?! Actually, I don't know how old I was, but I was suspicious so I thanked my mom for a doll I got "From Santa" and she said "You're welcome." Crushed.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? One of my grandmas always gives us Christmas pajamas, even now :)

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Sometimes just lights (I know, but we had a baby). We are slowly building our ornament collection. My parents have so many they can't fit them all! The colored lights are enough for me honestly. So pretty in the dark. I love laying under the tree and looking up at them. Lily and I will definitely be doing that this year.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I LOVE SNOW! Snow day, hello!

12. Can you ice skate? Um... sort of. I took a couple of lessons and could skate backward at one point. Now I could really use those ones with the double blades...

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? When I was like 2 my parents gave my sister and I a play kitchen. It was awesome. Lily may or may not be experiencing this sometime soon.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family and friends (who are basically family anyway.)

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Everything.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Driving around to look at lights and saying "ooooh...aaaaaah" with my family.

17. What tops your tree? A sparkly spiral thingy.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Both! :)

19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Yum, but sticky.

20. Favorite Christmas show? The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

21. Saddest Christmas Song? Ummm, that one about the Christmas shoes where the mom dies or something.

22. What is your favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night by 'NSYNC. I'm not kidding.

If you join in the Christmas meme, let me know!

{Then she tasted her first ice cream bar.}

{As expected, more ended up on her mouth than in it. Just as it should be.}

True Confessions Tuesdays: I am Elsewhere

I haven't written in a few days, but that is because I am working on something fun!

Have you been reading the 50 Days of DIY Christmas over at the other Chelsey's blog? Well, if you haven't, you should be! I am working on a little something for her that will be posted in the near future (if only I would finish my post and send it to her already!) Here is a sneeky peek:

{I'll let you know when it is posted.}

In other news Lily is almost healthy again which equals more sleep for everyone! Yesterday was her 18 month check up and as usual she was top of the charts for weight and off the charts for height. I think this girl is going to be a tall one. I am already strategizing how to help her feel confident, stand up straight, and not be afraid of heels. Any advice is welcome.

Happy Tuesday!

My Week in iPhone Pics: Sleepy Tutus

1. Bed Head 2. Sharing with a friend 3. Cutest burrito
4. Baby long legs 5. Lone adventurer 6. Her outfit choice: Tutu over penguin jammies

My phone is slowly dying (3G, not even 3GS people!) so it has become harder to take pictures. I am trying to remedy this situation. If anyone would like to send me $199, let me know.

{PS - I'm reading a new book! Maureen Johnson is one of my favorite authors. She is absolutely hilarious in real life...twitter is real life right?...and this book is so far equal parts charming and chilling. Check it out over there! ------------->}

{PPS - I told myself that once I hit 100 followers I would do a giveaway to say "thanks for  caring about what I say... or at least humoring me and pretending" So stay tuned for that!}
